Growing old is a good thing
This year, I have been thinking a lot about ageing and growing old.
Honestly, I never thought I’d live beyond 22! Don’t blame me! Life was so hard back then that I didn’t have enough time to think about more than a month in future. I’d somehow figure out ways to pay my bills, and that would be enough for that month.
In December of 2022, we were coming back from a much older friend’s housewarming party; the mellow wind was hitting my face, I looked outside and hoped that someday I would get to call a place home without any fear, surrounded by friends I love and a life that I can bear to float by.
I didn’t know it then, but months later, I’ll date a boy that I am not in love with, and when he leaves, I’ll question my choices. My trust in myself and my worldview will crumble to the ground.
What I also didn’t know then is that the job I hate will not kill me, I’ll find someone special later in life and will eventually trust that friends, lovers, and family will all keep loving me in their way- realising there is nothing wrong with me.
The great thing about being alive is that nearly all emotions have already been felt, and all problems have already been faced—by someone else at some other time. That’s one of the reasons why we need each other.
We need each other more than ever because we are not even remotely as lonely in our experiences, as we think we are!
So here is my small effort, as I grow older, to reach more people and share and listen to more stories. What has been interesting to you lately? Most of you have been here for a very long time. I’d love to hear from you!

Did you know the oldest site on the internet is a website from 1991? Check out the restored version at info.cern.ch.
Other things on the recent internet that I have been obsessed with:
🫶🏻 Caroline Wrinkler
For an Instagram addict like me, Caroline’s honesty is so refreshing; I know everything on the internet is either a lie or just highly curated (newsletter on this some other time), but her videos make me giggle, laugh and sometimes, even cry!
🥞 Gazoo Studio
I have a new hobby and it’s entirely inspired by Gazoo Studio! They’re too cute and I love their style and colour palette! Here’s a dose of their cuteness for you!
⛰ Do it Anyway!
Scared? Feeling insecure? Hopeless? Do it Anyway! Here’s a small December motivation for anyone who might need it!
🥸 I have a question!
Before we part ways, I am curious if using a journal is still considered cool (?) Do you use journals or undated planners? If yes, where do you get them from? I want to try something this coming year, help me out, pretty please?
📒 A Book and a Song
I have been reading Days at the Morisaki Bookshop and listening to Diljit Dosanjh!
